The Gilmer High dance team competed in the Class 3-4A division at the state competition. GHS placed sixth in hip hop with a score of 81.65 and finished eighth in pom with a 75.63.
Dawson County was in town to jump-start the Region 7-3A tennis schedule.
The Gilmer Bobcats hung with the No. 4 team in the state for the better part of four quarters.

Gilmer High senior Ryder Wofford scored 20 points in the Bobcats’ region championship win versus Pickens last Saturday. The Cats host Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe today at 6 p.m.
Gilmer’s Bregan Berry is the undisputed 132-pound state champion in Class 3A.
For the first time in school history, the Gilmer High Bobcats are region basketball champions.
Offense has not been an issue for the Gilmer High Bobcats.
