Mrs. Lois Jean Davis, 83, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022.

She was born Nov. 14, 1939, the eldest child of the late Lee and Mea Mealer Reece. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, class of 1956, and worked at First Baptist Church as a child care worker for many years. She also worked at Blue Ridge Carpet in Ellijay for 25 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Ellijay for many years.

She is preceded in death by husband, Elmer Davis; sisters, Vernice Reece and Frances Tarpley; and sisters-in-law, Gladys Adams and Earline Eller.

She is survived by husband, Charles Hyde; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tammy Davis; grandchildren, Rachel and Tanner Davis, Leah and Drake Crump, Brandon Davis; great-grandchild, Barrett Paul Davis; brothers-in-law, Tommy Tarpley and Richard Eller; nieces, Lisa Helton, Rebecca Miolen and Linda Hagood; and nephews, Joey Smith, Patrick Smith and Danny Smith.

Funeral services were held at noon Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, from Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Watkins, the Rev. Russell Hood and the Rev. Charles Holbert officiating.

Music was by the Ebenezer Baptist Church choir.

Interment was in the Ebenezer Baptist Church
Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joey Smith, Patrick Smith, Danny Smith, John Helton, Drake Crump and Tanner Davis.
