Anna Ruth Jones

Mrs. Anna Ruth Jones, 93, of East Ellijay, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at Wildwood Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Pickens County, to the late Joseph Barney Payne and Mattie Gaddis Payne.

She is preceded in death by husband, Warren Patterson Jones.

She was a graduate of Gilmer High School and was employed by the Dixie Dime Store and Huff’s Drug Store. She loved to knit and quilt and was a longtime member of East Ellijay Baptist Church. She always had a smile on her face. She loved her family, the Lord and her church dearly.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Don Crider, Janie and Roger Kincaid, and Claudia and David Townley; son, Christopher Warren Jones; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, from East Ellijay Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Kelly and the Rev. Jess Posey officiating.

The Rev. Stephen Keener prayed at the cemetery.

Interment was in the East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Hensley, Brent Defoor, Billy Jones, Billy Ayers, Ronnie Prater and Chuck Prater.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
