A seventh person is being sought in connection with the murder of a woman which took place in Cherry Log.
An arrest warrant for murder has been issued for Maria Katherine Chavez Encarnacion, 28, of Marietta, in the murder of Rosanna Delgado on April 20, 2021, according to a release form the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation began when the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at a residence in Cherry Log. GBI agents were called in to assist.
Delgado, 37, of Bethlehem, was identified as the victim at the scene. She was reported missing Friday, April 16, and was last seen in DeKalb County.
Encarnacion’s last known location is Mexico, according to the release.
Megan Alyssa Colone, 30, of Stone Mountain, Oscar Manuel Garcia, 26, of Austell, and Juan Antonio Vega, 25, of Cobb County, were arrested in Mexico in a joint operation of the GBI, working in partnership with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Atlanta, HSI Harlingen, Texas, and Attaché Matamoros, Mexico.
Juan Ayala-Rodriguez, 35, of Gainesville, Mario Alberto Barbosa-Juarez, 29, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Carolina Jazmin Rodriguez-Ramirez, 28, of Oklahoma, are still being sought.
Calvin Harvard, 28, of Covington, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and theft by receiving stolen property in connection with the investigation, according to an April 30 press release from the GBI.
Vehicles belonging to two of the five suspects, a white Ford F-150 and a white Buick Regal, and the victim’s red Ford Focus were recovered in connection with his arrest.
