Last week two fatalities were reported from accidents on Hwy. 52 on two separate days.
Edward Dwelly, 62, of Ohio, was involved in a single vehicle accident Tuesday, March 23, according to a Georgia State Patrol report.
A Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Dwelly was traveling eastbound when it ran off the north shoulder at 11:23 p.m. The vehicle struck two embankments and overturned ejecting Dwelly, who was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
In a second accident Thursday, March 25, county resident Vanetta Senershia was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Gilmer County Coroner Jerry Hensley. She was not the driver of the vehicle.
No report was available from the Georgia State Patrol at press time, and Hensley said the crash is still under investigation.
