A Gilmer County pool is still in the works.
“We are hoping to get finished, if not by the beginning of the season, at least some time during the season,” said Gilmer County Chairman Charlie Paris.
At an Oct. 14 meeting of the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners, a unanimous vote was taken to hire an engineering firm out of San Diego, Calif., named Watershape at a cost of $57,140.
“We finally found someone who would engineer everything for us,” said Paris.
“Everyone seemed to have as much as they could handle.”
A design of the pool was already in hand, but there were no engineering schematics to allow for the project to be bid.
Watershape is scheduled to start the engineering within three weeks. Once they are finished, the project will be put out to bid.
