A Gilmer County Fire and Rescue employee has been suspended pending an internal investigation following an arrest.
Michael Paul Chester, 33, of Jasper, was arrested Oct. 9 by the Ellijay Police Department, and charged with false imprisonment, harrassing communications and criminal trespass.
According to an incident report, an Ellijay police officer was called in reference to an earlier dispute and was provided with a video of an earlier incident by the complainant.
Incident dates are listed as between Sept. 27 and Oct. 9.
A release from Gilmer County Public Safety Director Keith Kucera said Chester had been suspended.
The incident occurred off duty and away from fire station property the release stresses. It also said the department was working to ensure the needs of the complainant were met.
Chester was released on a $12,000 bond pending his court date.
