This week, Faith Hope and Charity Recycle Store will trim back its operating hours until further notice.

Beginning Wednesday, July 22, the store will be open for shopping from 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday-Saturday.

“We were open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, so we’ll be losing four hours of shopping per day. While this is a drastic change in hours, we feel it’s necessary to keep our volunteers safe. The increase in COVID-19 cases has played a major role in our volunteers’ willingness to be at the store,” noted Cheryl Worley, FHC board chairman.

The charitable thrift store at 449 Industrial Boulevard will keep safety precautions in place that were adopted upon its reopening in May.

Those include allowing only 31 shoppers at a time, requiring customers to wear protective face masks and shop with a cart to maintain distance and asking that no children under age 15 accompany shoppers.

Donated items will be accepted from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Saturday if enough storage carts are available to accommodate the amount of incoming donations. Donations of furniture will be received during the same hours and days at the store’s furniture doors, Worley noted.
