A man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of a woman which occurred in Cherry Log.
Calvin Harvard, 28, of Covington, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and theft by receiving stolen property according to an April 30 press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Vehicles belonging to two of the five suspects, a white Ford F-150 and a white Buick Regal, and the victim’s red Ford Focus were recovered.
Additional charges against Harvard are expected, according to the press release.
Rossana Delgado, 37, of Bethlehem, was reported missing Friday, April 16. She was last seen in DeKalb County.
Her remains were discovered April 20, during a welfare check by Gilmer County deputies at a Cherry Log residence. GBI were called to the scene.
Murder warrants were issued for Megan Alyssa Colone, 30, of Stone Mountain; Juan Ayala-Rodriguez, 35, of Gainesville; Oscar Manuel Garcia, 26, of Austell; and Mario Alberto Barbosa-Juarez, 29, of Oklahoma City, Okla. Authorities are seeking help in identifying a fifth suspect.
“At this point in the investigation, there are absolutely no ties with any of the suspects or the victim to this area,” Gilmer County Sheriff Stacy Nicholson said.
