Sheriff’s Office still searching for suspect
An unknown person fired at least three rounds at a local family’s house Friday, Jan. 16.
The shooting took place on Hwy. 136 West.
No one was injured, according to the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) incident report.
When GCSO deputies Caleb Peardon and Alexis Stanley arrived at the scene, a neighbor told them he had heard gunshots shots at approximately 6:30 a.m.
When he looked outside, he saw a vehicle in the road. Then, the vehicle “took off” up Hwy. 382.
The neighbor then noticed a bullet hole in the window next door, and two of the living room walls.
The victims were eating breakfast at the time of the shooting.
They told Peardon they were “a bit shaken up” after seeing the bullets had gone through their window and walls.
The GCSO has no suspects on this case yet, according to the incident report.
It is investigating this crime as a misdemeanor incident of disorderly conduct.
