Two North Carolina residents were arrested and 10.9 grams of heroin were seized in Gilmer County.
Jamie Willis Whitener, 44, and Natalie Lynn Scogin, 47, both of Murphy, N.C., were charged with trafficking heroin after being stopped on Hwy. 515 North in Gilmer County March 30.
Value of the herion sezied is estimated at $1,600.
“Whitener and Scogin were known by the Law Enforcement Agencies involved in this investigation to be involved in trafficking heroin between Gilmer County and Murphy, N.C.,” according to a release from the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office
Gilmer County deputies, Fannin County investigators, the Cherokee County North Carolina Sheriff’s Office and the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office worked jointly on the arrest.
