Gilmer County Fire and Rescue has taken delivery of its new ladder truck. Gilmer County commissioners were given a chance to see the truck following a work session Sept. 16. The truck is a Class A pumper, has a 100-foot ladder and can pump 1,500 gallons a minute. Crews are training on the truck and taking practice drives. Chief West said it should be in service within the next two weeks.
