The Gilmer County School System’s Seamless Summer feeding program is set to begin next week.
Free meals will be available Monday through Thursday at six locations throughout the county and are open to those who are 18 years old and younger.
The Seamless Summer program is split into two sessions this year. It kicks off Monday, June 5, and will run through June 22. The program will resume July 10, and the final day of summer meals will be July 20.
A separate breakfast will be served at the Larry Walker Educational Center cafeteria ahead of lunch. The remaining five sites will offer breakfast and lunch together beginning around noon. On Thursdays, sites will offer double meals per individual because the program is closed Fridays.
The Bobcat Cafe is a mobile feeding site that also offers educational opportunities and will be on location at First Baptist Church of Ellijay.
A STEM camp will take place at Ellijay Elementary June 12-15 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and it is open to students entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Space is limited, and free registration can be completed at Gilmerschools.com.
