The Gilmer County School System will provide meals at no cost as the Seamless Summer feeding program has returned.
Breakfast and lunch are available Monday through Thursday at six locations throughout the county and are open to those who are 18 years old and younger. Parents and guardians may pick up meals on their child’s behalf.
The Seamless Summer program is split into two sessions. It kicked off Monday, June 3, and will run through June 28. The program will resume July 8, and the final day of summer meals will be served July 18.
An individual breakfast and lunch will be provided separately at the Gilmer High School cafeteria. The remaining five sites will serve breakfast and lunch together beginning at 11:30 a.m. On Thursdays, sites will offer two lunches and two breakfasts per individual because the program is closed Fridays.
The Bobcat Cafe is a mobile feeding site and will be on location behind First Baptist Church of Ellijay. A second mobile site will be located on Orchard Road.
