Qualifying will start soon for two 2023 city elections.
In Ellijay, all five city council seats will be up for election, while all four council seats will be on the East Ellijay ballot.
The mayoral seats for both cities will also be up for election this year.
Qualifying for the Ellijay election will run from Monday, Aug. 21, to Wednesday Aug. 23, at Ellijay City Hall, 197 North Main Street.
Times are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on those days. Qualifying fees are $105 for city council candidates and $712.62 for mayoral candidates.
Qualifying for the East Ellijay election will also run from Monday, Aug. 21-Wednesday, Aug. 23, at East Ellijay City Hall, 107 Oak Street.
Times are 9 a.m-4 p.m. on those days. Qualifying fees are $100 for city council candidates and $981.24 for mayoral candidates.
Election Day for both cities will be Tuesday, Nov. 7. Early voting will start Oct. 16 and last until Friday, Nov. 3.
In Ellijay, early voting will be done at City Hall, and the Election Day polling place will be the Gilmer County Civic Center.
Both East Ellijay’s early and Election Day voting will be done at City Hall.
