The Gilmer County Board of Tax Assessors approved real and personal property value notices for 2022 when meeting last Friday.
Real and personal property assessment notices were scheduled to be mailed out Monday, May 16. There were 34,279 real property notices this year, up from 33,716 last year, noted the assessors office.
Property owners will have 45 days from the date on those notice(s) to file appeals.
The last day of this year’s appeal period is June 30. Appeals can be filed in person, by mail or online at GilmerAssessors.com.
Also while meeting, assessor board members Bill Logan, Gary Engel and Jerry Davis approved this year’s tax-exempt property digest, which totals $393.4 million.
