Paving started last week on a portion of Progress Road from the intersection with Maddox Drive to the Old Highway 5 intersection. Progress Road is one of several streets scheduled to receive some sort of paving work budgeted by the City of Ellijay. This project, which picks up where the remainder of Progress Road was paved last year, is funded by a state Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
