Cindy Hoyle Musselwhite is running for East Ellijay City Council.
She comes from a family of public servants, two of whom served as councilmembers in East Ellijay.
Her dad, Max Hoyle, served 11 years with late Mayor Mack West beginning in the late 90s, and her granddad, Hub Callahan, served over 20 years alongside both Mack and Newman West.
Cindy feels blessed to be back in “East Town,” as she so affectionately calls it, after serving alongside her husband during his 30-year military career as an OH-58D helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army.
She is a proud graduate of East Ellijay Elementary School, Gilmer High School and North Georgia College. She earned her BBA with a double major in marketing and finance, while playing basketball on scholarship and being on the only team in North Georgia College Women’s Basketball career history to play for an NAIA National Championship.
Her coach many years ago stated it best: “Cindy is versatile.”
She is grateful to be mom to four beautiful children, has officiated college basketball for 10 years, played bluegrass music alongside her children in 10 different countries and is currently serving as the closing legal assistant for Hoyle Law Firm in Dahlonega.
She’s served on three boards of directors around the globe and has a passion for learning and dedication to serving in her community any place that she has lived.
Cindy has been back in East Ellijay for five years now, devotedly spending the first few years taking care of her ailing mother, the late Jean Reece Hoyle. She currently resides in the same home she grew up in, driving past many of the same families she came to know and love as a child.
Musselwhite is fiercely loyal to her community and wants to preserve the uniqueness and heritage of East Ellijay for years to come. She is a longstanding member of East Ellijay Baptist Church and is dedicated to giving back to this community that has given her so much. She believes transparency is key, honesty is vital and hard work is a necessity, not an option.
