Homeward Bound Pet Rescue Inc. has partnered again with Cherry Log Christian Church to bring the Logan’s Run Snippet Bus to Cherry Log.
On Monday, Feb. 3, 24 pets received surgeries in the mobile spay/neuter clinic.
A low-cost spay/neuter option is greatly needed in our area, and family pets also receive a rabies vaccination for an affordable fee of just $75 (roughly half the cost). The remaining funds have been raised through donations in our community.
Homeward Bound Pet Rescue Inc is a volunteer run animal rescue that has been based in Gilmer County for 25 years, saving over 7,000 pets since inception. Homeward Bound receives no government funding and supports its mission of saving and finding a new home for abandoned pets strictly through donations and grants.
Both cats and dogs received surgeries at Monday’s clinic. Amy Ulrich, Homeward Bound board member, shared their hope and goal with this clinic is to make an impact on the pet overpopulation crisis in our area.
The Snippet Bus is operated by Animal Amor and Dr. Laura Boggs in partnership with Logan’s Run Rescue in Murphy, N.C. Each mobile clinic is able to complete an average of 25 surgeries in one day. Animals are dropped off by their owners by 8 a.m. and are available for pick up by mid-afternoon.
Homeward Bound has scheduled the Snippet Bus to return to Cherry Log Christian Church Monday, March 3, 2025. All pets must be pre-registered for the mobile clinic. If you would like more information on the mobile clinic or would like to donate to this initiative, reach out to Amy Ulrich, Homeward Bound Pet Rescue at 706-698-4663.
