An Ellijay man was killed and his wife injured in a vehicle accident.
James Dietz, 79, was killed Monday, Dec. 4, when his 2019 Honda CR-V entered Hwy. 282 from The Oaks Drive and was struck by a 2019 Cheverolet Silverado traveling west on Hwy. 282, according to a report by the Georgia State Patrol.
According to the report, Dietz stopped at the stop sign but failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle and was struck in the driver’s side door. The accident occurred at 9:30 a.m.
Darla Dietz, 75, who was a passenger, was transported to Erlanger with serious injuries according to the report.
Jon Carringer, 60, of Powder Springs, who was driving the other vehicle, was taken to Piedmont Ellijay with possible injuries, according to the report.
