Coulter Jamison “Slim” Reece was arrested in Pickens County
A Gilmer County man is in custody after fleeing the scene of a shooting.
Coulter Jamison “Slim” Reece, 18, is being charged with aggravated assault for shooting his girlfriend during a domestic violence incident.
Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, is when the shooting occurred, acccording to Gilmer County Sheriff Captain Frank Copeland.
Two shots hit the woman in her extremities. She was taken to the hospital. No status on her condition was available, he said.
Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office pushed out a wanted post on its app Tuesday afternoon asking for help locating Reece. He was considered armed and dangerous, the post said, and people were told not to approach him.
Reece was taken into custody Aug. 7, by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. A post by the Pickens Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a tip Reece was at a relative’s residence.
He was arrested without incident, according to the post.
More charges are possible, and the investigation is still ongoing, said Copeland.
