Emergency was handled quickly
When a fire broke out on the morning of Sunday, March 29, Gilmer Fire and Rescue (GFR) firefighters helped keep the structure fire from spreading out of control.
GFR was dispatched to the fire at 7 a.m., located at Novena Court inside Coosawattee.
Early reports suggested it was a brush fire, but when crews arrived on the scene, they realized it was a structure fire.
Although GFR couldn’t save the structure, they brought brush fires around it under control in just 12 minutes.
“We are proud of the swift, hard-working, and courageous actions displayed by all Gilmer County Fire Rescue personnel on scene. Their dedication and teamwork reflect the high level of service and commitment we strive to provide to our community every day,” GFR announced on their Facebook page.
GFR made no further comment, as investigation into the fire is still ongoing.
