County businesses, charities and churches have planned activities
As Halloween approaches, there are a frightening number of fun activities to choose from for the holiday.
Whether you’re looking for family-friendly trick-or-treating or fun events for adults, there’s something for you and those you care about.
For those in search of a downtown Halloween activity the First Baptist Church’s Fall Festival offers candy and free family activities.
Located at 164 N. Dalton St, Ellijay, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, this event includes games, a petting zoo and a giant inflatable obstacle course.
Food can be purchased at the event’s food trucks.
“We want to provide a fun event for the community to be together and celebrate,” Ministry Assistant Katrina Murphy said.
More information is available at fbcellijay.com/events/fall-festival.
Another exciting Halloween activity is the Trick or Treat event at the Ellijay Lions Club at 1729 South Main Street.
This event, including trick-or-treat and costume contests, will take place on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Adina and Mandy REMAX Town and Country will host the event, with the Ellijay Lions Club serving as co-host.
Those wanting to know more can contact Mandy Loomis at 706-889-1939.
If your family wants to have a frightening amount of fun, the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers is hosting the Boo Bash at 29 Highland Drive Suite 115 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
The event is free.
“We’ve created an opportunity for families to make memories at a small-town Halloween festival, just like the ones many of us fondly remember from our childhoods in Ellijay,” Associate Broker Kirby Smith said.
The event includes 30 different businesses, cake walks, games, a DJ station, pictures stations and more. It’s a great opportunity to trick-or-treat in an area without walkable neighborhoods, Smith said.
Attendees will have “a boo-bashing time!”

The event will feature “fun, food, games and lots of candy.”
