Ellijay-Gilmer County Water and Sewerage Authority board members and staff honored late board chairman Mike Gibbs last week by unveiling a commemorative plaque bearing his likeness that will hang at the water authority building on Progress Road. Gibbs, who also ran Mike’s Ellijay Restaurant, served on the water board for almost 20 years, much of it as chairman. He passed away in Sept. 2023.
