My name is Al Fuller. I’m currently an Ellijay City Councilmember and seeking re-election.
I was born in downtown Ellijay to Mary Virginia and Bandy Fuller. I am one of their four children.
My wife, Cindy, and I will celebrate our 42nd anniversary on the 25th of this month. We have one child, James Bandy Fuller, now age 33 and married to Allison Fuller.
In my youth, some of my favorite pastimes were playing the drums, being a member of the FFA band and winning state in an FFA competition.
In my adult years, I now enjoy running and participating in 5K races for a cause, such as The Run for the Son supporting the Christian Learning Center. These pastimes have given me skills that I did not realize I had until I had the opportunity to utilize and develop them.
I was first elected to the Ellijay City Council in 1973. Once elected, I realized serving Ellijay and its constituents was important and meaningful to me.
Much like playing the drums and running, serving my hometown effectively is a skill that I’ve learned over many years of experience.
I truly believe I was born to serve my community. Over the years, the citizens of Ellijay have given me the gift of trust by continually re-electing me.
Serving the citizens of Ellijay has been my passion for many years. I have no personal agenda other than working to do what’s in the best interest of the residents of Ellijay.
By working with the Friends of Harrison Park, I have helped to create a safe and beautiful area for citizens and guests to enjoy. I’ve also taken a special interest in supporting the police and fire departments.
A top priority of mine will be to continue to keep this community safe and prosperous.
