Gilmer County voters have an additional hour to cast their ballots in person each day this week.
The voter registrar’s office announced that in-person early voting for the June 21 runoff election will be extended by one hour Monday, June 13-Friday, June 17.
The new times are 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. each day.
The location for in-person early voting is the Gilmer County Voter Registrar’s Office, 1 Broad Street, Suite 107.
“Since there’s just one week of early voting, we thought we’d give people who get off at 5 p.m. time to get here,” said Tammy Watkins, chief registrar.
The lone local race to be decided by the runoff is Gilmer County Post Two Commissioner on the Republican ballot. The two remaining candidates are John Marshall and Tom Whatley.
In state races, Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor, insurance commissioner and labor commissioner will also be decided by the runoff election.
