Troopers are looking for the driver of a vehicle who eluded law enforcement following a high-speed chase ending in a P.I.T. maneuver.
The chase began with a trooper checking speeds on State Route 5. A 2017 Nissan Rogue traveling south was clocked at 86 mph. in a 65 zone, according to a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson.
After activating emergency lights, the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle.
The driver responded by turning off his headlights and reached speeds of up to 100 mph.
A P.I.T. maneuver, which causes the fleeing car to turn sideways, was used to end the pursuit. The driver fled the scene on foot and has not been captured, according to reports.
The violator has been identified and warrants will be taken out for his arrest. A name was withheld until warrants are signed.
