Citizens asked to be on lookout for man

Gilmer County Sheriffs Office has asked county residents to be on the lookout for a man wanted in North Dakota.

“Leonard Higdon is currently being sought by law enforcement for a brutal attack that took place in Williston, N.D., on Sept. 29,” reads a post on Facebook. “Higdon has ties to Gilmer and Fannin counties and is considered to be armed and very dangerous. If you see him or know of his whereabouts, call 911 immediately.”

Higdon is being sought on warrants for attempted murder, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, fleeing or attempting to elude police officers and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

All charges stem from an incident which took place on Sept. 29, in North Dakota, according to a post by the the Williston Police Department.
