Despite rain throughout the day, a festive parade proceeded through Downtown Ellijay, putting bows and ribbons on this year’s two-part Light Up Ellijay festivities last Saturday. “I’m really glad the weather broke so that we could give Ellijay the parade. Several of our floats did choose to not attend due to the weather, but the ones that did were spectacular. The parade participants put a lot of physical and financial investment into their floats, and getting to show them to the people lining the streets is what makes them happy,” said Pam Burns, of parade presenter Engage in Gilmer.
