Money raised will go to local ministry projects
Sometimes, items that have long lingered in someone’s garage can bring blessings to others.
The Cartecay Baptist Church plans to make this happen by holding its annual yard sale.
“All the proceeds that we take in from this sale, we put right back into missions and ministry in the church and in the community,” Pastor Chad Hall said.
The sale will take place 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.
The sale will be located at 118 Riverwood Road in Ellijay. It accepts credit card and debit card payments.
Those with questions about donating or what will be available can call Cartecay Baptist Church at 706-635-1090.
The sale plans to have items for everyone, Hall said.
Men and women of all ages are invited to take a look. Clothes, houseware, home décor, linens, beds, furniture, tools and more will all be present.
“Every year the guys always ask, ‘Where’s the guy stuff?’” Hall said. “We have lots of things for guys.”
The funds raised during the sale will go to several church initia-tives, including a Night to Shine prom for people with special needs, cooking lessons for kids, treats for first responders and food deliveries for shut-ins, Hall said.
“We are trying to expand some of the things that we are currently doing,” he said.
Hall said he hopes to raise $5,000 from the sale.
Besides raising money, the sale will help draw the church com-munity together and tell people about the love of God, Hall said.
“It’s a great time of fellowship and a time that builds excitement before the yard sale, because we know we’re going to get to see a lot of people during the sale, and we’re going to get to talk to them about Jesus,” he said.
