Proceeds will go to local 12-year-old girl Saydee Low
A benefit ride will honor the courage and resilience of Saydee Low, a local 12-year-old girl with a rare and aggressive brain tumor.
“The whole point of the ride is to raise funds for her family and the little girl herself for any treatments or bills that need to be paid,” event organizer Ashley Altman said.
The benefit ride will take place Sunday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m.
It will start at Mountain Powersports and end at Rally Point Grille.
Along the way, it will travel to Fort Mountain overlook.
Motorcycles, jeeps and more are all welcome.
The event will also include a DJ, bounce house, raffles, vendors and local Bigfoot impersonator Sergeant Squatch.
All proceeds will go toward Saydee.
“A bunch of people in the community, hopefully are just going to rally together,” Altman said.
Those registering for the ride can sign up at https://www.facebook.com/events/1094404059289219/. Those who sign up should donate $10 on Venmo at @SayStrong2024 to help Saydee Low and her family.
People will also be able to donate at the event.
Saydee Low is the daughter of Ashley and Sam Low, and sister to Brecklee Low.
She has been fighting cancer for nearly a year.
“You don’t want to sit there while your kid’s going through treatment and have to worry about making a living and working,” Altman said. “It’s easier if the community comes together to raise funds.”
Saydee and her family will be attending the event.
