Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office continues search
A manhunt is in progress for Terry Franklin Turner, an armed convicted felon.
Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) deputies have been searching for Turner since Friday, Dec. 26.
Turner is 40 years old and has an active arrest warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
If you see him, call 911 immediately and do not approach him. Anyone who aids or abets him will be charged.
The deputies were responding to multiple 911 calls that reported a man was acting erratically and carrying a rifle.
Witnesses said he was firing the weapon and chasing wildlife.
The GCSO believes this man is Turner.
As of writing, GCSO deputies have been looking for Turner for 17 days.
Despite an “extensive search,” deputies haven’t yet found Turner.
So far, he has been reported at Nugget Lane and Pebble Court; Woodridge and Oak Ridge; Cameron Drive; and Tails Creek Road and the Highway 282 corridor.
Turner has been seen moving through yards, driveways, wooded areas and near residences.
