Local Authors Forum will celebrate her work
Local author Kathy Williams brings rich life experience to her two books, “Dear Dad” and “Wait.”
“Dear Dad” retells her father Judson Miller’s experiences leading his men through World War II. It includes some of his letters home from events including the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of Hurtgen Forest and more. His stories are mixed with her heartfelt letters to him, written after his death.
“Wait” is a memoir of her own life.
Williams was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina while her dad was in the Army. She edited her high school newspaper, jockeyed and trained racehorses and became a district manager in the convenience store business.
Today, she is the newsletter editor of the Benton MacKaye Trail Association, a member of the Blue Ridge Poets and Writers Guild, Vice President of the Fannin County Friends of the Library and volunteers at the Blue Ridge Community Theater.
She will be among several taking part in the Local Authors Forum, hosted by Friends of the Gilmer Library.
The event will take place Saturday, April 25, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Gilmer County Library’s Community Room. The library’s address is 268 Calvin Jackson Dr.
