Shirley Sue Johnson

Mrs. Shirley Sue Johnson, 83, passed away at her daughter’s home in Cohutta Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. She was born Dec. 24, 1938, to the late Harvey William Wilson and Rebecca Dale Wilson.

She was baptized and a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness for 54 years. She was a devoted caregiver to both the young and old. She loved being from Ellijay and living her life here.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved her family.

She is survived by daughters, Debbera Jones and Regina Hosier; son, Michael Wayne Johnson; sister, Cora Strickland; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with grandson, Desmond Johnson officiating.

Interment followed in the Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers serving were: Jason Jones, Josh Jones, Jacob Jones, Michael Johnson, Desmond Johnson, Spencer Hosier, Jordan Hosier, Travis Hosier, Kaden Hosier, Jonathan Ziegler and Matt Bray.
