Ms. Bertha Mae Manning, 86, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021.

She was born in Gilmer County April 25, 1935, to the late Floyd Jones and Bertha Watkins Jones.

In addition to parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Charles “Chuck” Weaver and Richard Weaver; one daughter, Sheere Weaver; granddaughter, Jessica Dawn Roberts; six brothers, Willis, Estes, Eldon, Everett, Bobby, and Freeman Jones; three sisters, Lois Rogers, Venice Jones and Minnie Jones.

Ms. Manning was a retired nurse with over 45 years of service in the medical field. She enjoyed playing rummy, going to the “races”, and vacationing in Florida. She was a member of Cartecay United Methodist Church.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Valerie Jones; three daughters, Charlece and Bo Stanley, Linda and Tommy Smith and Bonny and Bill Roberts; two brothers, Lowell Jones and Max Jones; one sister, Frances McGill; eight grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Kasey Weaver, David Weaver, Bo Bo Stanley, Chad Townsend, Jessica Holtzclaw, Tonya Banks and Kellie Ponder; 18 great-grandchildren, Max, Miley, Luke, Jade, Brady, Brody, Dalton, Jody, Riley, Ashton, Gina, Kylie, Michaela, Kimber, Noah, Rydlee, Jay and Tucker; one great-great grandchild, Kinsley.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at 3 p.m. from the Harvest Missionary Church with the Rev. Glen Arnold and Pat Shelton to be officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery.
