Gilmer High swimmers were in Adairsville for a meet last Thursday, and the Bobcats placed first while the Lady Cats were second.
GHS swimmers won four individual events, which included Connor Mohon in the 200-freestyle (2:15.62) and 100-yard butterfly (1:04.78).
Aniston Fowler came through with a top finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:23.90) as Larz Fowler finished atop the 100-yard breaststroke field at 1:23.76.
Larz Fowler was also second in the 100 freestyle (1:03.71). Cadence Mohon secured Gilmer’s other remaining runner-up placement in the 500 freestyle (8:21.13).
GHS had a quartet of third place finishers, and it included Emma Schramm in the 200 individual medley (3:09.06), Kaitlyn Grice in the 50 (33.64) and 100 freestyle (1:18.79), Kaden Little in the 100 freestyle (1:07.52) and Sadie Bryan in the 100 backstroke (1:39.22).
In fourth place were Little, 50 free (28.62) and Mary Parks in the 100 free (1:18.93). Landing in sixth place were Shyanne Little, 50 free (35.48) and 100 free (1:26.31) and Ty Cox, 100 free (1:24.48).
Cole Ellis placed seventh in the 50 free (29.42) as did Parks in the girls 50 free (35.93). Placing ninth was Bryan in the 50 free (36.54).
In relays, the Bobcats’ 200 freestyle team of Ellis, Larz Fowler, Brandon Little and Connor Mohon won in 1:53.44. The girls 400 freestyle team of Aniston Fowler, Grice, Cadence Mohon and Bryan clocked in a 5:20.76 for second. Schramm, Cadence Mohon, Aniston Fowler and Parks were third in the 200 medley at 2:33.17.
GHS will attend a Thursday meet at the Cherokee Aquatic Center beginning at 7 p.m.
