Clear Creek runs at annual league XC meet

Clear Creek Middle School cross-country runners wrapped up their season at the annual North Georgia Mountain League Championships.

The event was held at Union County’s Meeks Park last Tuesday, and the CCMS Lady Cats were runners-up while the Bobcats placed third in the boys race.

CCMS medalist included Lady Cats Estephany Becerra (6th overall) and Salma Gonzalez (8th) in the girls race. Bobcat Dawson Richard finished sixth on the boys side.

Remaining Lady Cats who helped achieve a second-place finish included Allison Hernandez (12th), Calli Wise (13th), Ryley Fields (22nd), Autumn Little (31st) and Morgan Palmieri (32nd).

Following Richard were teammates Rylan Haley (13th), Boston Teague (17th), Nelson Jacinto (23rd), Cameron Quinn (24th), Andrew Chastain (45th) and Jeremy Jacinto (53rd).

Dawson County clipped the Lady Cats for first, 56-61, and Pickens was third. Ahead of the Bobcats in the standings were first-place Lumpkin County and White County.

“Both teams have worked and fought tirelessly to get here, and we are very proud coaches,” said CCMS head coach Adam Palmer.
