Clear Creek Middle School hosted the annual North Georgia Championships last Tuesday on its home course.
The CCMS Bobcats and Lady Cats welcomed five teams, which included Dawson, Fannin, White and Union counties, as well as Calhoun.
Calhoun won the boys race and Fannin claimed first for the girls. The Lady Cats turned in a runner-up finish while the Bobcats placed third.
Clear Creek’s Estephany Becerra finished third overall in the girls race with a time of 15:21, and teammate Salma Gonzalez was sixth in 15:35. Also contributing to the team score were CCMS runners Calli Wise (11th, 16:26), Ryley Fields (15th, 17:11) and Allison Hernandez (19th, 17:39).
Dawson Richard was the Bobcats’ top placer and clocked in at 13:48 for fourth. Rylen Haley was 11th in 14:46 ahead of teammate Boston Teague’s 12th place finish in 14:52. Nelson Jacinto was 17th for CCMS in 15:14 and Cameron Quinn took 22nd with a time of 15:41.
CCMC competed in the league championship at Tuesday’s press deadline.
