Four Gilmer High basketball players landed on the all-region team.
Region 6-4A coaches voted and selected 10 boys and 10 girls at the end of the regular season. Lady Cat senior Bailey Teague, junior Emma Callihan and sophomore Elly Callihan were all selected, as was Bobcat sophomore Cade Carter.
In 26 games, Teague tallied 225 points for an 8.7 average. She averaged 2.8 assists and 2.7 steals per game and collected 99 rebounds on the season.
Emma Callihan was second on the team in points with 10.5 per game and rebounds at 5.7. She finished the season with 57 assists and 56 steals.
Elly Callihan led GHS in four categories, which included points (16.3) and rebounds (9.4) per game, as well as total steals (73) and blocks (22).
Carter made an instant impact as a starter and averaged a double-double with 14.6 points and 10 rebounds in 23 games. He blocked 27 shots on the season and posted a 52.6 free-throw percentage.
Northwest Whitfield’s girls matched GHS with three all-region selections, and LaFayette led the way on the boys side with three as well.
