CCMS cross country was in Jasper last Saturday for the Pickens Preview.
The Clear Creek Lady Cats (246 points) placed ninth, while the Bobcats (313) were 12th in the boys standings.
Ella Schwartz was the No. 1 Lady Cat in 18th place (14.12.5) in the girls 3.2K. Morgan Palmieri (49th, 14.14.2), Xiaoxing Troxell (54th, 15:30.1), Autumn Little (77th, 16:38.6) and Allison Hernandez (83rd, 17:00.4) also scored points for the Cats.
Also competing were Jennifer Garcia (89th, 17:11.4), Malley Blocker (90th, 17:14.2), Alie Morin (97th, 17:44.5), Lucia Farist (118th, 19:46.2) and Braelyn Nolasco-Chun (133rd, 20:38.9).
Willian Ramirez (34th, 12:45.4) and River Rayborn (36th, 12:55.9) were the top runners for the Bobcats. Also completing the 3.2K course were Jeremy Martinez (57th, 13:41), Gaberiel Reynoso (127th, 15.53.8), Cole Jones (129th, 16:04), Damion Dunn (130th, 16:04.5), Nathan Grice (131st, 16:06.3) and Clint Carver (149th, 17:31.7).
The CCMS softball team got its season rolling last Tuesday at Dawson County. The Cats needed just five inning as they stormed to a 9-0 win.
Lady Cat pitcher Braylee Stewart was nearly unhittable. She limited the Tigers to just one hit and struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced.
Clear Creek jumped ahead early with a run in the first inning. They also plated a run in the third and two in the fourth before a five-run fifth.
CCMS then rallied from 5-0 deficit versus White to win, 6-5. The Lady Cats secured a pair of wins against the Murray County Indians Saturday.
