Gilmer rec football hosted Union County and earned three victories.
Games were played at Clear Creek Middle School last Saturday, and the hometown Bobcats posted a 3-2 record.
Gilmer’s second and third graders got the day going, and both earned decisive victories over the Panthers. The second-grade Cats added a pair of fourth quarter scores for a 20-0 win. The third-grade squad dominated Union en route to its 48-0 win.
Bobcat sixth graders closed out the day with a 46-12 triumph.
The Panthers turned the tables in the fourth-grade matchup, 28-6. Union’s fifth graders won as well, 27-0. First-grade teams received the day off.
Gilmer will travel to Dawson County Saturday to face the Tigers. Game times include first graders at 9 a.m. followed by second (10:30 a.m.), third (noon), fourth (1:30 p.m.), fifth (3 p.m.) and sixth-grade (4:30 p.m.) kickoffs.
