Gilmer High cross-country returned to Canton’s Boling Park.
The GHS Bobcats and Lady Cats attended the annual Fleet Foot Warpath Invitational, which drew 28 teams. The Bobcats were 26th in the boys standings with 712 points, and the Lady Cats were 24th (723) on the girls side.
Dawson Richard was the lone GHS runner to crack the top 100. He posted a 5K time of 18:28.8 for 89th place. Michael Little was next in 125th at 19:04.9, and Seth Turner crossed the finish line in 19:58.7 for 155th.
Also contributing to the team finish were Leeland Dantin (158th, 20:05.8) and Sebastian Raymundo (187th, 21:31). Cristofer Chun-Bail ran as well and clocked in at 22:52.9 for 196th.
Seven Lady Cats completed the course, and Estephany Becerra led the way in 145th place in 24:55.3. Not much separated the next three Lady Cats Amalia Raymundo (155th, 26:06.70), Maria Alonzo (156th, 26:13) and Salma Gonzalez (157th, 26:35.80).
Maria Raymundo finished in 24:45.30 for 169th, and she was followed by teammates Angelica Lopez (172nd, 29:32.50) and Maggie Thompson (173rd, 29:46.10).
St. Pius was the No. 1 girls team with 59 points as Northview (84) and North Hall (112) rounded out the top three.
To begin the week, GHS hosted the North Georgia Championships Tuesday.
The top five Bobcats in attendance were Mesner (20th, 20:03.1), Little (23rd, 21:44.1), Dantin (25th. 21:55.8), Turner (21:59) and Hannes Sobottka (34th, 22:47.3).
Leading the charge for the Lady Cats were Becerra (17th, 27:17.7), Gonzalez (20th, 27:48.6), Florinda Lopez (23rd, 27:48.6), Amalia Raymundo (26th, 28:40.3) and Alonzo (29th, 29:12).
Dawson County (29) won the girls race over Union County (34), Southeast Whitfield (74) and Gilmer (99).
Five boys teams competed, and the final standings included Southeast (33), Dawson (38), Union (50), Gilmer (119) and Rabun County (149).
Next, GHS will attend a Saturday invitational in Cartersville.
