Summer vacation is upon us, and Gilmer High School is holding its annual slate of summer youth sports camps.
Baseball camp will be June 26-28 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gilmer Baseball Field located on the GHS campus. The camp is open to boys entering first through eighth grade and the cost is $60. Checks should be made payable to the Gilmer Dugout Club and can be mailed to: Attn: Jeff Thurman, 408 Bobcat Trail, Ellijay, GA 30540.
Campers are encouraged to wear cleats or tennis shoes, baseball pants and bring a glove, bat, helmet (optional), catcher’s gear and plenty of energy.

The Gilmer Running Club is open to everyone, and it will meet on the playground side of River Park Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 a.m. beginning June 5. Runners are welcome to attend at any time during the alloted hours, and those who run more than 100 miles during the summer will receive a free T-shirt. Anyone interested can sign up for club by text messages by texting @2016grc to 81010.
Remaining youth camp information will be printed once it is received.
Soccer camp will be July 11-13 at Huff-Mosley Memorial Stadium from 6 to 8 p.m. The camp is open to boys and girls entering pre-K through eighth grade and the cost is $60.
