Gilmer High golfers were on the course for three more matches.
GHS hosted Fannin County at Whitepath last Tuesday for a pair of wins. The Bobcats edged the Rebels, 199-207, while the Lady Cats claimed a 156-189 win over the forfeiting Lady Rebels.
Gilmer made its way to Lumpkin County the next day to take on the Indians at Achasta Golf Club. LCHS secured a 182-197 win over the Bobcats, and the Lady Cats fell, 157-162.
The week ended Thursday at Whitepath versus Pickens. The Bobcats dropped their match, 177-185, and the Lady Cats were defeated, 143-171.
Versus Fannin, Bobcats Grant Ballew, Chris Gaddis and Riley Duggan all posted a nine-hole score of 49, while Luke Janssen and Rhett McGregor both shot a 52. Connor Wimpey’s day ended with a 54.
For the Lady Cats, Anna Waddell was the low medalist with a 46. Maddie Wright’s 51 and Madison Stanley’s 59 were followed by Arielle Smith’s 61.
Ballew’s 44 at Achasta was the Bobcats’ top score. McGregor and Caden Stover both finished with 51s, while Hershel Defoor and Janssen each posted 57s and Wimpey had a 59.
Lady Cat scores included Waddell (50), Wright (55), Stanley (57) and Smith (52).
Ballew shot a four-over par 40 versus Pickens. Janssen’s 45 was ahead of Gaddis (49), Duggan (51), McGregor (53) and Stover (53). Waddell (45) led the way for the girls once again. Wright (50), Stanley (56) and Smith (56) rounded out the team score.
GHS golfers will travel to Athens May 5 for the area tournament.
