Summer vacation is right around the corner for Gilmer County students. Gilmer High School will kick off its annual slate of summer youth sports camps beginning next month.
Cheer camp will be held June 13-16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the gym located at the Larry Walker Education Center. The camp is open to those who are 4 years old up to rising sixth graders.
The cost is $55 if preregistered (contact ghsspirit1@gmail.com) or $65 on the first day of camp at 8:30 a.m. Checks should be made payable to GHS Spirit Boosters.
Campers should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes (no sandals or flip-flops). Registration can be completed at Https://forms.gle/KPdrtX1iARDBt2MSA. Sibling discounts are available for those living in the same household.
Baseball camp will be June 13-15 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Bobcat Baseball Field located on the GHS campus. The camp is open to rising first through eighth graders and the cost is $50, and there is a $10 discount for siblings. Checks should be made payable to the Gilmer Dugout Club and can be mailed to Attn: Jeff Thurman, 408 Bobcat Trail, Ellijay, GA 30540.
Campers are encouraged to wear cleats or tennis shoes, baseball pants or shorts and bring a glove, bat, helmet (optional), catcher’s gear and plenty of energy.
The baseball program will also hold a father/son camp June 18 from 8 a.m. to noon and the cost is $25, and there is a $10 discount for siblings.

Soccer camp will be June 20-22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sign up can be completed at Threeriversac.com.
Softball camp will be held June 20-22 from 9 a.m. noon at the field located behind Mountain View Elementary. The camp is open to those who are entering kindergarten through fifth grade and the cost is $50. Walk-ups are welcome, but those who preregister before June 15 will receive a camp T-shirt.

Football camp will be held June 21-23 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Huff-Mosley Memorial Stadium. The camp is open to rising first through eighth graders and the cost is $50, and checks should be made payable to the Gilmer High TD Club.
Campers are encouraged to bring cleats and gym shoes and to wear a T-shirt, shorts and socks. Campers are advised to bring no more than $4 in pocket money for snacks/drinks. The campers should not bring watches, any jewelry or other small articles of value which could be lost easily.
