Gilmer High swimmers were in Adairsville for their second event of the season.
The Thankful to Compete meet was held last Saturday, and the Cats scored points on nine occasions.
Gilmer’s best finish was fifth place in the girls 400-yard freestyle relay. Lana Ginger, Addison Potter, Rosalie Ballew and Remy May finished in 6:22.92.
Elizabeth Kucera secured eighth-place times in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:48.80) and 100-yard backstroke (1:25.39).
Kucera also teamed up with Evan May, Yana Jones and Grace Medina for 17th place in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The 200 free relay team of Abigail Tello, Ginger, Ballew and Isabella Jones clocked in at 3:37.01 for 19th.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the squad of Medina, Isabella Jones, Potter and Tello placed 15th in 4:02.70.
Yana Jones finished 13th in the 100 back (1:35.17) and 18th in the 200 free (3:31.87).
Bobcat Clifford Defoor posted a time of 1:49.39 for 19th in the 100 back.
GHS will travel to Calhoun High School Thursday for a 5 p.m. meet.
