Gilmer High swimmers were back in the pool last Saturday for the Tiktok Classic.
The 20-team meet was held at the Calhoun Aquatic Center, and the GHS Bobcats placed 14th with 18 team points.
Bobcat Law Lykins nabbed a pair of top-10 finishes. He took third in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.95 before a seventh-place time of 54.38 in the 100 free.
Teammates Jacob Kucera and Kaden Little each competed in the aforementioned events. Kucera secured 16th in the 100 free at 1:02.60 and was 31st in the 50 free at 26.97, while Little posted respective times of 1:04.36 and 28.31 for 31st and 48th. Michael Sexton clocked in with a time of 34.95 for 96th in the 50 free.
Lykins, Sexton, Little and Kucera teamed up for 16th in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:53.15.
The Lady Cats participated in three events as well but fell shy of scoring team points.
In the 50 freestyle were Gilmer’s Esther Bowman (51st, 33.50), Kaitlyn Grice (61st, 34.30), Lillie Martin (85th, 36.87) and Addison Emond (130th, 46.57). Grice was the top placer in the 100 free (48th, 1:18.35) followed by Bowman (55th, 1:19.89) and Emond (101st, 1:49.72).
Martin, Emond, Bowman and Grice joined forces for the 200 freestyle relay and placed 34th in 2:35.80.
Etowah (217 points) was the first-place girls team with Calhoun finishing ahead of Woodstock, 196-189. Calhoun (363) dominated the boys events as Blessed Trinity edged Etowah for second, 189-187.
