Gilmer High’s youth summer camps continued this week with cheerleading.
Baseball camp will be June 18-20 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gilmer Baseball Field located on the GHS campus. The camp is open to boys entering first through eighth grade and the cost is $60. Checks should be made payable to the Gilmer Dugout Club and can be mailed to: Attn: Jeff Thurman, 408 Bobcat Trail, Ellijay, GA 30540.
Campers are encouraged to wear molded cleats (no spikes) or tennis shoes, baseball pants and bring a glove, bat, helmet (optional), catcher’s gear and plenty of energy.
The baseball program also holds a father/son camp June 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. The camp is open to boys entering kindergarten through 12th grade and their fathers (or male mentor) and cost is $40. Boys basketball camp will be June 23-25 at two different locations. The little kids camp (first through fifth grade) will be held at CCMS, while the big kids camp (sixth through eighth grade) will be at GHS. The cost is $65, and campers can register at MyPaymentPlus.com. Checks on the first day of camp should be made payable to Gilmer Boys Basketball. Homegrown Youth Wrestling Camp will be June 25-26 at the Noah Harris Wrestling Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The camp is open to those entering kindergarten through eighth grade and the cost is $30. For more information, contact youth head coach Sarandy Gaitanoglou at 706-633-9943.
Softball camp is July 8-10 at the Gilmer Baseball/Softball Field on the GHS campus from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The camp is open to girls entering first through sixth grade and the cost is $60.
