A Monday doubleheader accounted for all of the Gilmer Lady Cats’ games.
GHS made the trip to LaFayette last week to continue region play, and the Ramblers won both. Timely hits did not come for the Cats in game one, while the Ramblers scored a run in three separate innings for a 3-0 victory.
Gilmer was able to get some run production in game two, but LaFayette scored at least three runs over a three-inning stretch for a 10-2 win.

Fortune and Stewart each recorded a hit in game two, and both of the Cats’ runs were unearned. Fortune’s first inning triple led to a run as she scored when Jaylee McDaniel reached first base on an error.

Meanwhile, the Ramblers’ eight hits combined to score three runs in the second and third innings and four in the fourth. When GHS was unable to cut into LaFayette’s 10-2 lead in the fifth inning, the game was called.
