Gilmer High golfers made their way to Spring Lakes in Chatsworth to tee off the golf season.
The GHS Bobcats squared off against three schools last Monday, and they landed in second place with a team score of 299.
Gilmer’s Luke Janssen posted a nine-hole score of 45. Teammate Grant Ballew shot a 46, and they were the second and third best scores on the day, respectively.
Rhett McGregor and Chris Gaddis both finished with 49s, and Cole Powell and Riley Duggan carded 55s.
North Murray was the first-place team led by Riley Campbell, who finished with a 39. Murray County (309) and Coahulla Creek (317) rounded out the standings.
Gilmer hosted Pickens at Whitepath at press deadline. The Cats will play at Old Toccoa Farm Thursday.
